Tour of the Equinoxes to the Argimusco Plateau

The center of this tour is the magnificent experience of sunrise or sunset on equinox on Argimusco Plateau, when you can just perceive why they say it is a magic place and light is perfect for taking amazing pictures.

We will visit the medieval village of Montalbano Elicona, elected the most beautiful village in Italy in 2015 and the Castle of King Frederick II of Aragon which houses the museum of weapons, the reproduction of royal clothes and the chapel with the tombstone of the physician and alchemist Arnaldo Di Villanova

You will eat typical local products such as bread of Montalbano, prepared with durum wheat flour, Basicò provola, Maiorchino cheese from Novara di Sicilia, olives and dried tomatoes in oil, macaroni with Nebrodi black pig sauce and Tripi egg biscuits.

On the Argimusco Plateau you will admire the bizarre fortresses with zoomorphic and anthropomorphic shapes such as the eagle, the baboon, the snake, the elephant, the soldier, the Praying Goddess; in the Bosco di Malabotta you will go in search of the centenary trees called 'Patriarchs'; you will admire wonderful landscapes of the Alcantara Valley, the Etna volcano, the marine coast of the Gulf of Patti and the archipelago of the Aeolian islands.

Landscape photography, observation of sunrise at dawn at the equinoxes period with it astronomical and “esoteric” significance for ancient civilizations and night observation of the Milky Way with a professional telescope are the very highlights of this tour
