Travel aboard the small train that runs along the perimeter of Etna. A circular and panoramic route in which you will pass through villages, petrified lava flows and otherwise inaccessible natural areas. You will enjoy the mountain landscapes at a slow pace while tasting traditional foods.

If we think of a small train that slowly travels through mountainous landscapes, we would probably feel a calming effect. Advancing among the lava flows, the tiny Circumetnea railway will lead you to discover places of peace, a handful of picturesque villages, and views fit for a postcard. After a visit to vibrant Catania, leave the noise, the air full of voices and urbanness behind and travel to the enchanting village of Adrano, to pick up your bicycle and browse the town until nearby Biancavilla. It will be a short interlude of asphalt because the rest of the itinerary will take you to sleep immersed in the chestnut trees, in mountain huts, and among the inevitable vineyards, where it is a must to enjoy dinner with your face illuminated by a high altitude sunset. It will be an especially gluttonous tour, where a young chef will prepare sensational dishes and you will be able to fill your belly with gelato and granita, made from any fruit that can be found in the area. In the Castiglione di Sicilia area, in addition to artisanal cheeses, you will enjoy another of those surprises that Sicily has kept in store for the more adventurous: an early Christian chapel erected in the middle of nowhere. It is no coincidence that artists and sculptors take refuge in this area, you can even visit an artistic residence that welcomes them.
